Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 25, 2026

Kids Go (the "App") is provided by CodeJoy ("we," "us," or "our"). We recognize that location information, especially information connected with children, requires careful protection.

This Privacy Policy describes the information the App may process, the reasons for processing it, how it may be shared and retained, and the controls available to users. Please review this Policy before using the App.

1. Purpose and Appropriate Use

Kids Go is designed as a family-safety and consent-based location-sharing tool. Parents or legal guardians may use its features, where legally authorized, to view a minor child's device location, route history, and safety-zone events.

The App may also support voluntary sharing among users who have knowingly agreed to connect. Location sharing begins only after the relevant device user grants permission and activates the feature, and sharing can be paused or stopped at any time.

Kids Go does not offer concealed tracking, silent surveillance, or a way to bypass operating-system permission notices. We do not intentionally collect or disclose a device's location without the required authorization.

2. Information the App May Process

We limit processing to information reasonably needed for location sharing, family-safety features, route history, safety-zone notifications, purchases, security, and reliable operation.

2.1 Location Data

Once the user has provided permission, the App may process:

When background location is enabled, location updates may continue while the App is not on screen, the display is off, or the device is locked. This access supports continuous authorized sharing, route history, and safety-zone alerts.

2.2 Device and Diagnostic Data

For security, troubleshooting, and service operation, we may process technical details such as the device model, operating-system and App versions, IP address, network state, anonymous or pseudonymous device identifiers, crash reports, performance logs, and error diagnostics.

2.3 Purchase and Subscription Data

If premium features are purchased, the applicable app store may provide us with limited details such as purchase status, subscription status, transaction status, or entitlement information. The app store processes payment. We do not directly receive complete payment-card details, payment passwords, or full payment-account credentials.

2.4 Data We Do Not Intentionally Request

Unless a feature is clearly described and any required permission is obtained, Kids Go does not intentionally collect contacts, message contents, call history, microphone recordings, camera footage, photo-library contents, browsing history, private chat contents, or government-issued identity numbers.

3. Consent, Sharing Controls, and Notices

Location processing occurs only after the relevant permission and feature have been enabled. Depending on the feature and device:

We do not intentionally conceal active location sharing from the device user.

4. How Information Is Used

Information may be used to:

We do not use children's precise location for behavioral advertising, user profiling, credit decisions, or commercial purposes unrelated to authorized family safety and location sharing.

5. Children's Privacy and Guardian Duties

Because Kids Go may process location information associated with a minor's device, parents and legal guardians must use the App responsibly and in compliance with applicable children's privacy requirements.

By managing a minor's device, you represent that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, have lawful authority over the relevant device and location features, will give the child any notice required by law, and will not use the App in an unlawful or privacy-infringing way.

Guardians should explain, in age-appropriate language, why the App is used, which permissions are active, who can see location information, how sharing can be paused, and what location-related notifications mean.

6. Background Location

Background access allows approved location sharing and safety features to continue when Kids Go is not actively displayed. If authorized, updates may occur while the App is in the background, the screen is off, the device is locked, a safety-zone boundary is crossed, or shared location needs to be refreshed.

Users may turn off location or background-location access through the App or device settings. Disabling access may prevent real-time sharing, route history, and safety-zone alerts from operating correctly.

7. Sharing and Service Providers

We do not sell or rent location information. We may rely on service providers for maps, supplemental positioning, hosting, storage, crash diagnostics, performance monitoring, push notifications, purchase verification, and advertising.

These providers may process limited information needed to perform their services and are expected to apply reasonable safeguards. We may also disclose information where required by applicable law, a valid legal process, or a reasonable need to protect users, rights, safety, or the integrity of the App.

Children's precise location is not used for personalized advertising. If advertising is shown, we seek to configure it consistently with applicable children's privacy rules, family policies, and app-store requirements, including non-personalized or family-appropriate settings where required.

8. Retention and Deletion

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the feature involved, security, service operation, or legal compliance, and we apply data-minimization principles.

Users may remove information using available App controls, clearing App data, uninstalling Kids Go, or contacting us. Uninstalling or clearing data may remove records stored only on the device.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, which may include encrypted transmission, access restrictions, collection limits, protections for sensitive information, and ongoing security improvements. No internet transmission or electronic storage method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

10. User Choices

Depending on the device and feature, users can pause sharing, manage location and notification permissions, turn background access on or off, limit advertising tracking, reset an advertising identifier, clear App data, uninstall the App, manage subscriptions through the app store, or contact us regarding access, correction, or deletion requests.

Some requests may be limited where we cannot reasonably connect pseudonymous technical information with a particular user. Disabling a required permission may also stop related features from working.

11. Prohibited Uses

Kids Go must be used lawfully, transparently, and with respect for other people's privacy. You must not use it to obtain or disclose location without authorization, install or operate it secretly, evade system permission notices, stalk or harass another person, cause harm, or violate laws, third-party rights, or app-store policies.

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate service when we reasonably believe the App is being used unlawfully or in a way that infringes privacy.

12. International Processing

Information may be processed outside the country or region where a user is located because of server infrastructure or service-provider locations. Where required, we seek to apply safeguards consistent with applicable data-protection law.

13. Policy Updates

We may revise this Privacy Policy when features, laws, regulations, or app-store requirements change. An updated version may be provided in the App, on this website, or through another reasonable channel, with the effective date adjusted. Where reasonably possible, material changes will receive a more prominent notice.
